I think of my art as communication. Through each character I play, or garment I create, I seek to gain a different understanding of the world, and share it with others. To me, this is the joy of theatre: learning to live someone else’s truth, authentically and honestly, in order to foster a greater level of empathy and understanding in humankind. Looking at our world today, it is clear that we desperately need to make a change. There is a division between people that seems almost beyond crossing, but we must try to bridge it. The only way we can start to move forward is by listening to each other, and learning to actually hear what others have to say. This is how I will do my part.
